You’ve gotta grab the reader’s attention with interesting headlines.
Blogging advice 101.
I’m sorry I’m new to the world of blogging, but I couldn’t help myself with this headline. My year nine photography teacher commented on nice legs by saying “they had a great set of pins”. I think the saying originated in the 1920s, although I haven’t found out much about the origins of this saying. If anyone has a story about the origin then I’d love to know. I’ve found reference to the 1932 film: Taxi (starring James Cagney) where the line features in the movie.
These days social media has taken over the word “pins” so a great set of pins must refer to those on Pinterest. For the Digital Dreaming pin board I’m creating and loading illustrated pins that feature the illustrations showcased in the book.

And as a tribute to the 5 step Family Knowledge Process supporting family with presenting keepsakes, I thought I’d include details about this blogs feature image. I wanted to included a set of female and male “pins” for the image. The top photo, taken circa 1955, is one family generation of female pins up a ladder. The bottom photo, taken circa 1986, is the next generation of male pins wedged in a waterfall.
Happy Pinning!
